Exposed Aggregate Finishes

We tune the exposure level and details to balance safety, comfort and style for your space.

Light Exposure

Subtle texture with a refined look. Great for patios and entries.

  • Comfortable underfoot
  • Shows cement tone more

Medium Exposure

Our most popular finish — clear stone reveal with dependable grip.

  • Balanced look & traction
  • Ideal for driveways & paths

Heavy Exposure

Maximum grip and pronounced texture — practical for slopes and wet zones.

  • High slip resistance
  • Strong stone character

Borders & Bands

Saw-cut or contrasting bands frame areas and add a premium architectural edge.

Seeded Features

Seed selected stones along edges or borders for extra texture and colour interest.

Control Joints

Thoughtful joint layout maintains looks and performance over time.

Aggregate, Cement Tones & Additives

Aggregate Size & Blend

Common mixes use 7–10–14mm stone. Finer sizes feel smoother; larger sizes show more character.

Cement Tone

Grey cement reads cooler; off-white brightens blends for a cleaner, lighter look.

Oxides & Tints

Oxide can subtly shift the base tone. We’ll advise on dosage to keep colours natural and UV-stable.

Sealers

Seal enhances colour and protects from stains/UV. We’ll explain gloss vs satin look and reseal timing.

Note: appearance varies with lighting, stone batch and exposure. We always confirm with on-site samples before works.

How to Choose Your Colour & Finish

Match the House

Reference roof, windows, brick/render and fence colours for a cohesive look.

Sun, Shade & Heat

Lighter blends stay brighter and can feel cooler; darker tones add contrast.

Use & Safety

Driveways and wet areas often suit medium to heavier exposure for grip.

Colours & Finishes FAQs

Will the colour change after sealing?

Sealer can slightly deepen tones and enhance contrast. We show sealed/unsealed samples so you can decide on the look.

Can you match existing concrete?

We’ll bring close options and adjust exposure/borders to blend new with old as neatly as possible.

Do lighter colours feel cooler?

Generally yes. Light blends reflect more heat and can feel more comfortable in summer.

What maintenance is required?

Occasional clean and periodic reseal keep colours sharp and protect against stains and UV.
