Why the base matters more than the finish
Most driveway problems start underground, not on the surface
Large parts of the Adelaide plains sit on reactive clay. It swells when it's wet and shrinks hard through a dry summer, and that movement is what cracks a slab that was poured on a thin or poorly compacted base. A good-looking exposed aggregate finish will still crack within a year or two if the ground beneath it wasn't prepared for how Adelaide's soil actually behaves.

How long does an exposed aggregate driveway take to install in Adelaide?+
