Why Invest in a Proper Concrete Shed Pad?

Level & Stable Base

A correctly prepared and poured slab keeps your shed square, stops doors from binding and reduces movement or rocking over time.

Built for the Loads You Use

From garden tools and mowers through to small vehicles and workshop equipment, we size thickness and reinforcement to suit the way you use the space.

Moisture & Termite Considerations

Plastic membrane, correct levels and clearances help manage moisture and interface cleanly with termite protection and surrounding landscaping.

Shed Pads for Backyards, Workshops & Garages

We pour shed slabs for everything from small backyard garden sheds through to larger workshops and garages, across Adelaide suburbs and rural properties.

Garden Shed Pads

Compact slabs sized to your shed footprint with neat edges and a non-slip finish.

Workshop Slabs

Reinforced slabs for benches, tools and light machinery, poured to suit manufacturer specs.

Garage & Carport Pads

Designed for vehicle loads, with appropriate slab thickness, reinforcement and falls.

Rural & Acreage Sheds

Larger slabs and farm sheds, including cut & fill on sloping sites and tricky access blocks.

Shed Pad Specifications & Build Quality

Sub-base & Thickness

We excavate to depth, place and compact a suitable sub-base and pour to a slab thickness suited to your shed size and load requirements.

Reinforcement & Edge Beams

Steel mesh reinforcement and optional edge thickening or footings (if specified by engineer or shed supplier) help reduce cracking and support heavier loads.

Moisture Barrier

A plastic membrane is installed beneath the slab to help manage moisture rising from the ground and protect your shed contents.

Levels & Drainage

We set heights carefully so water flows away from nearby structures and doesn’t pond around the slab. On sloping sites we can incorporate cut & fill or small steps.

Anchors & Fixings

We can allow for anchor bolts, starter bars or post brackets as required so your shed installer can fix securely to the slab.

Finish & Aftercare

A neat broom or trowel finish gives you a practical, non-slip surface. We provide guidance on curing times and when it’s safe to install the shed or park vehicles.

Our Shed Pad Process

1) Site Visit & Quote

We review your shed plans, measure the area, check access and levels, then confirm slab size, thickness and any edge beams or footings required.

2) Base Prep & Formwork

Excavation, spoil removal, sub-base placement and compaction, formwork set-out, plastic membrane and reinforcement placed to spec.

3) Pour & Finish

Concrete is poured, screeded and finished to a neat, level surface with control joints cut to help manage cracking.

4) Cure & Handover

We tidy the site and provide aftercare instructions, including curing time and when you can install the shed or bring heavy items onto the slab.

Shed Pad Cost in Adelaide

Every shed slab is slightly different. Pricing depends on the slab size and thickness, site access, excavation requirements, spoil removal, reinforcement, and whether edge beams or footings are needed. We’ll provide a fixed, itemised quote so you know exactly what’s included before we start.

Shed Pad FAQs

How thick should my shed pad be?

It depends on your shed size and what you’ll store in it. Smaller garden sheds can often use thinner slabs, while workshops and garages may need thicker concrete and extra reinforcement. We’ll recommend a suitable spec when we quote.

Do I need council approval for my shed and slab?

Rules vary between councils and shed sizes. We always recommend checking with your local council and shed supplier. We can pour to engineered designs or manufacturer requirements where needed.

How long before I can install my shed on the slab?

Concrete continues to gain strength over time, but most sheds can be installed after an initial curing period. We’ll let you know recommended timeframes based on your slab size and weather conditions.

Can you pour a shed slab on a sloping block?

Yes. We can complete cut & fill, adjust slab height or incorporate steps and small retaining where feasible so your shed sits level and drains properly.
